Today we hustled out of our wonderful rooms at the Lodge and did another seven chugging up and down miles in light fog and dew. After that the ride reverted to modest rollers the rest of the day. We had a beautiful ride on a nice back road the last 20 miles after lunch into Arkadelphia. Logging truck activity picked up on the roads. Today was the 18th day of riding which is 2/3 of our scheduled 27 days. Arkadelphia is the county seat of Clark county, situated in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains. It was founded in 1809 and known as Blakely Town until 1839. The current name may come from its being known as the city of rainbows. Major factors in the economy are education and manufacturing. Tomorrow it is 100 miles to Monticello, AR.
