If I'm being entirely honest, in hind sight, I shouldn't have gone out today. I just wasn't really feeling it from the start all the way until Long Beach. We didn't get to my in-laws house until 10:30 and I wasn't in bed until an hour later.
I didn't set an alarm this morning choosing to just get up and go whenever I woke up. Of course I still first woke up at 4:30 a.m. I did fall back to sleep for about an hour more before finally getting up. I'm pretty sure the combination of the tough Lifetime ride yesterday and lack of sleep just left me burned up.
Tried something different at Bogart's today. Instead of getting something sweet I went with a turkey panini and it was amazing. I coupled it with a banana and cold brew. I rested inside for about 30 minutes before heading back.
Back on the San Gabriel trail, I finally started feeling better but I chalk that up to the tail wind. Had a nice roll all the way to Baldwin Park.
I stopped at the Mobile on the corner of Ramona and the 605 like I always do. I picked up some snacks and sat down to relax for a few minutes before making the final push home. I filled up one of my bottles with some of the Dr. Pepper I'd bought and when setting the bottle aside it tipped over. Immediately, Dr. Pepper started shooting out of the top of the spot. It looked exactly like the Diet Coke and Mentos videos from a few years back. I was able to finally get my finger on the spot but not before I had Dr. Pepper all over Shadow and a little on myself as well. At first I was angry, but that anger faded pretty quickly and I just started laughing.
After my Dr. Pepper soda fountain debacle, I loaded up and rode for home. Felt pretty good with a partial tail wind helping me all the way back.
Already hit the shower, and now I'm looking forward to a huge dinner.
