Schaeffer Farms Because It's Hot

Not sure what happened to spring but here we are with temps in the upper 80s and humidity back. Was hoping to get the work in before it got really hot and Schaeffer is pretty shady.

Friends, that's not what happened. It got hot quick and no amount of riding in the deep shade in the woods could obscure that fact. Especially since there were multiple sections, especially on the paved trails at the Soccerplex at the end, out in the direct sun.

Felt pretty awful at the end, with no zip in the legs and not enough air in the lungs. Not quiiiiite a death march, but not great either. Could be the steady climb from 10 onward might have had an effect too...

Still, happy to be out on the bike, happy to be in the woods, happy to not be clambering over downed trees other than one spot around 8 and 9.9 (yes, we rode that section twice, no we have no good answer as to why).

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
