However, at the morning stop at the Prop Cafe in Pinewood Nurseries, reached in a roundabout way, Margaret used either her womanly wiles or her committee clout to get the ride leader to blurt out that the mystery venue was in fact the Bear in Maidenhead. An indirect jaunt to Maidenhead found us arriving at the venue in good stead (does this make any sense or am I just padding this out? Who knows? Who cares? Yes I am padding this out - there I said it) . Post lunch we headed back forgoing an afternoon stop.
A very enjoyable day out with Hoppo until I got home and found that I had lost my wallet. I phoned the Bear to see if it had been found and the girl that I was talking to said that the front of house staff had not had anything handed in but that she would check in the office. While I was waiting for her to come back my landline rang - it was a customer in the pub who had just found my wallet ! The wallet was handed over to the girl that I had been talking to and I collected it later in the evening! Now what was the chance of that? My faith in human nature has been restored !
