These local group rides are proving to be quite the blast! We really tore up the place once Atanas arrived and was able to provide his signature low-cadence, high-torque pulling, whether with or against the wind.
When Gene, Stuart, and I arrived at Cedar Creek, Atanas had not yet arrived, a text revealing that he was stuck in massive eastbound traffic. He suggested that we start riding, and he would meet us along the way.
After a leisurely ride to West End, we eventually met him at the Field 6 underpass. From there, we decided to head east to Gilgo.
With Atanas pulling, along with a stiff southwesterly cross tail wind, we flew down the path. After a brief break at a decidedly crowded Gilgo (today is June Teenth Holiday), we headed back west into the teeth of a 15mph cross head wind.
Tucked in behind the locomotive known as Atanas, it was actually a rather effortless segment.
Returning on the northbound leg, with that stiff tail wind urging us along, we made great time back to Cedar Creek.
With mostly sunny skies and beach temps in the low seventies, along with some great company, this was about as good as it gets!
