Got out a bit earlier today than the previous rides. The weather was great, with the winds favorable. My legs felt good today. Unfortunately, my right leg started cramping, but in a strange way. It was more of an intermittent cramp that lasted less than a minute or so. Again, I decided to do the greater ride in the hopes that my leg would turn for the better. Turns out that it continued to cramp here and there, but the last half hour was the best. I did good tempo for most of the ride with a dig over SS and Cummings Valley. I couldn't WOT for the most part because of my leg, but there were times were I could open the gas for a few minutes before having to let off. Other sorenesses were my hips and lower back. Those were real modest and not a game changer. My concentration was good for the most part with intermittent lapses. I would give it a 7 out of 10. Balance was ok, but had times struggling, but for the most part, right on. I'm debating on rotating my right cleat so that my foot can heel out a bit. Gear is flawless. I tightened the chaingring bolts before the ride. I think it helped a bit, but there was still some noises emanating from that same region. I suppose the next step is to make sure the crank arms are tightened. Other notes, I felt a bit light headed for the first 30 minutes of the ride, so I ate my bail-out bar at the top of Banducci and SS. I'm thinking of heading east on highline and head out towards The. Willow Springs Rd. That's part of the "Grand Fondo" ride that is supposed to take place summer of next year. I've no idea what to expect, but I want to scout it out to see if it's safe to add to my list of common routes.
