Training objective: Preparing for the 36One, so ride as long as possible at only tempo pace - no hard riding - with the cadence between 75-90 rpm's and the heart rate at 130-145 bpm's.
Hey not too bad. I could have kept going, but I really didn't have enough fuel (I ate 4 FarBar's in the first 6 hours, drank 750 ml of PVM, a coffee at the coffee shop just past Eight Bells, then a Coke and 2 750 ml bottles of water while Coimbra changed my wheelset (from the stock Giant to American Classic Wide Lightning), then a chocolate soft serve ice cream cone at Herold's Bay, and finally a chocolate donut and 2 small bottles of low fat chocolate milk at Munro's in Little Brak. The nutrition of a champion - NOT!
Joined a local group for the first 80 km's or so (they were a bit slow for me, even at an easy pace), then carried on on my own when I peeled off for George to get the new wheels. Really notice a difference with the easier rolling and improved handling of the new wheelset - so much so that I had to do another 95 km (I was at 105 km at Coimbra Cycle House in George). :)
Will probably do about 100 km's tomorrow.
Oh, and despite replacing the battery, had problems with the cadence sensor - it was paired but no data showing up on the screen (and thus the blank section in the graph on Garmin Connect). Eventually it decided to cooperate - after about 15 minutes....

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
