Yet another cold day today. It was sprinkling for about 3 to 4 minutes in the beginning of the ride. I wore full gear + jacket, except shoe covers. To make matters more challenging was the wind. From the south and brutal on the last half of the ride. I'm so used to being able to ride with a tailwind on the last half, but today proved to be different. The thing that made it worse was that it was a cold wind. It probably took about 50% more time than usual on the return trip. The first half up to the Banducci summit was comfortable given the conditions. Fortunately, I had no ailments other than trying to stay warm and concentrated. I think I'm getting used to the full gear, but not 100% yet. My left arm warmer doesn't stay, so I'll just have to find something to keep it in place. Legs always adds a bit of resistance, but again, getting used to them. There was a reprieve on the last ascent for about 10 minutes or so, enough to catch my breath. And of course, over the summit, the wind picked up. Balance was good, but as I made my way towards the north, the crosswind made me lean to the right, so it was difficult to gauge my balance on those parts of the ride. The gear is working well. I found my tire cleaners in my jacket from the last ride. I used it 2 times and I think the first time it removed some debris. Looks to be working well. Other notes, they pushed a bit of earth to the right shoulder just before Banducci. I'm not sure if they intend on putting turn-out or an extra lane. The farmlands have accumulated some water from the rain. Perhaps they'll store it in a reservoir?
