Well, new to us anyway, though the roads have been there a long time. Last big tuneup for the Covered Bridge Classic next week. Legs held up; contact points continue to be a work in progress but hopeful there. Wasn't particularly hot in general but out in the open with no shade (thank YOU MD 194 between New Midway and Woodsboro) it was radiating off the pavement. Pretty happy with the route, even with a LOT of climbing; lots of really quiet paved roads and lovely rural scenery. Unlike previous pavement ride, did not start feeling bad at any time. Didn't even experience hotfoot; probably because ambient temp didn't get very high before we finished. First part of the loop went near or across a number of large streams that had clearly been out of their banks from Debby, with a coupla places a thin layer of water running across the pavement. That stopped as we got higher and as the day progressed. Last 5 miles or so were as difficult as expected, with wind from the west and one last climb from the river back to Utica park. Though was pleased that as soon as the route turned north again at 54, getting up to cruising speed was reasonably easy and legs didn't object (too much). And yes, there was a loop around the parking lot to be sure the full 55 was recorded ;-) w/Dan
