Another miserable raining day it was. A good one for an in-door training ride. I decided to do the mountain loop as I've done the past few times on this region. The setup was fast. Got my provisions and commenced the training. I followed the usual routine. A good 7 to 10 minutes of warmup, before beginning the climb. Once on the climb, I did in and out of the saddle tempo changes. High tempo out and recover in the saddle. More of a rinse and repeat approach till the summit. My right knee was exhibiting some soreness under the knee cap. Downshifting and increasing the cadence helped. To the point, where it was no longer a hindrance. I did good time today. Putting in a 30 day PR. After the primary climb, I headed up to the second summit. Then the downhill, recovering most of the way. I tried not to slack much while back on the flat/rolling parts. Putting in a good dig in the sprint section. After that, it was medium tempo, some out of the saddle efforts to the finish. Then the usual 5 to 7 minutes cooldown. Concentration was good. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, right knee soreness, mitigated by downshifting and increasing the cadence. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, there were over 3.4k riders today.
