Karta Burnu to Quinninup.
It was a misty morning, but that soon shifted.
A coffee, some quick oats, and pack up and we're off.
Straight into a short but hefty climb. Just to wake you up.
Most of the riding was gravel road, with occasional leafy forrest. So Manjimup came quickly.
I was greeted by a snake on entry.
We just stared at each other for a bit, & went our separate ways.
I stopped at the first bakery I came across, thinking I'd get something for later. But after inconveniencing the disinterested staff by buying something, I sat outside and ate it.
Moving on, my legs gets stiff, after a break, but soon loosend up.
More of the same, gravel roads, but then it started to get hilly.
On a down hill dirt road, I took the opportunity to scratch my nose. Then I hit an invisible patch of sand. As all my weight went forward, my right hand pushed the bars to the left, which threw me to the right.
Several wobbles later, I got it under control.
That could have been disastrous!
I thought I was going to get to Quinninup in good time, but the hills slowed things down a bit.
Then came the realignment.
The original trail seemed to continue along the valley.
The new version (I assume, dreamt up by an evil psycho) turned and headed up a near vertical climb.
For a long long endless time.
There was much pushing and swearing.
I made it to the eco campsite. 68km all up.
I think I need an easier day tomorrow.
Oh, and the bike is beginning to creak and groan as much as I do.
