It was raining yesterday, so I couldn't get out until today. Fortunately the weather held up. The weather was cold, in the low 40's. I wore 2 base layers, a long-sleeve (thin) jersey, and my normal jersey on top. I added some arms, knees, cap, and face mask. I was comfortable the entire ride. I also put two socks on and that kept my feet warm enough. I gambled today that my tire would hold up after the past 2 rides that were hectic with flats. I patched on of the inner tubes, installed that on my front wheel. I also checked the entire rim and tire for sharp objects. None to be found. The next thing I'm going to do is change the rim tape. I think this one has been in there for ever. That set aside. The ride went fairly well, but I did have a slow leak in the front tire. I had to decide, put a new inner tube, risk another puncture, or just reinflate since it was a slow leak. I decided to re-inflate. I got lucky, because the tire held up. My legs felt good today. I cruised it to the top of banducci. The winds were favorable today, so I decided to do the entire ride. Haven't done it in a while. It was good to get this ride in. My legs were with me the entire ride, with only a few intermittent leg cramping. No game changing ailments though. I think my hips were sore on a few occasions, but no game changer there either. I did good time today on the way out, making under 1 hour going through the SS tunnel. When I realized that I had a slow leak and re-inflated the tire, my mentality was that I needed to get back as fast as I could. So from the corner of Pelisser and banducci, I floored it and held high tempo for the remainder of the ride. I probably cut about 5 minutes of my overall time. Concentration was good. The last half in earnest. Balance was good as well. Other than the slow leak, the gear held up good.
