TIL, after all these years, the lyric is actually, “I MIGHT like you better…” 🤦🏻♂️🤣
Before the ride, Natalie was thinking of bailing but I talked her into coming and think she was glad she did.
It's funny because she messaged me just as I was putting my bike in the car. And earlier in the week, we were supposed to ride and I just put Skratch in my bottle when she messaged that she had to cancel so today would've been Strike Two!
On the way to Portola Valley, there were tons of CHP on 280. I counted six total for both directions including one CHP that we were following. Then around Woodside I saw a motorcade where all the vehicles had their sirens flashing. Several black SUVs and surrounded by plenty of CHP and following in the convoy was an ambulance. I found that strange as I've never seen one in a motorcade before.
I found out when I got home that it was Trump heading to SFO after a fundraiser in Woodside.
I didn't even try to park at Alpine Inn but Alex managed to get a spot and maybe I would've been able to as well. The parking was basically full when I rode over and it looks like they're cramming more cars in than they did before.
After Dirt Alpine, Natalie took Skyline home and Alex and I rode through Monte Bello but decided not to do White Oak and Bella Vista as it was getting late.
Sunset happened while we were in Foothills just before going to Arastradero. Plenty of turkey and deer out at dusk.
It was an hour wait for a table or half that for a communal table so we went with the shorter wait. It ended up being about 25 minute wait. I don't know if these communal tables were there before as I'd never sat at them. If they were, I wouldn't sit there again, not to eat anyway. And if they're new they get a big thumbs down from me. They're very narrow so if you're ordering a pizza, as I did, it basically takes up the width of it so if the person across from you also ordered one, there really wouldn't be room for both.
I don't know why they're so narrow. They're really only good for drinks and appetizers.
I used to think they had the best pizza in the area but twice now, it hasn't been as good. They're using that low grade, chewy, mozzarella you find on bad pizza. No thank you!
