Today was borderline ride-able. I decided to do an in-door ride. Today was the London Loop. The gear setup went quick. I hopped on the trainer and began. I didn't realize how far the Box Hill climb was. I think I rode for about 30 minutes before I reached the base of the climb. This gave me plenty of time to warm up. I was just about to break a sweat as I was nearing the climb. Once on the climb, I got out of the saddle and began the usual in and out of the saddle approach. I was doing about 4 watts/kg out of the saddle and about 2-3 Watts/kg in the saddle. When I was about 1 minute from the summit, I stayed out of the saddle doing about 4.5-5 Watts/kg. After that, I cruised the downhill. and headed back into town. A quick sprint in the tunnel wall. I think it was about 45-50 minutes into the ride, so I decided to finish the loop and ride till I reached 1 hour. Then the cooldown for about 7-8 minutes. Concentration went better as the ride progressed. It was that first 20 minutes for the mind to settle. Ailments next to none. A hint of soreness in the right knee, never escalating. Balance and form felt good. Gear worked great. Other notes, about 1700-1800 riders today.
