Today was warmer than the previous few rides. I wore arms, knees, 2 baselayers. My legs were a bit heavy from the start. After making my way through OTR, I felt a bit hungry. I ended up eating my bailout bar at the end of OTR. I had half then and the other half at the turn-around point. That bit of food helped. I felt stronger as I made my way on the outbound. The winds today were very strong. I nice tailwind all the way out. I was doing in excess of 40mph on the early parts, after the 1 mile uphill start. After cresting the mile climb, I started to go from modest to good tempo. Then, as I neared the halfway point, I noticed that my legs were feeling good, so I upped the tempo to high tempo. The wind really did make it a treat! My concentration was good for the most part. Balance was good. As is the case with this ride, it's great for working on form. Gear is working well, no mishaps. Although, I did forget my tire cleaner. Of all the rides, this is the one I needed it the most. I was extra precocious. For the return trip, I did modest tempo. Just kept it steady, no digs except a bit of extra effort over the top. After making it back to OTR, it was mostly cruise control with a few high tempo moments.
Other notes, I averaged 24.9mph on the outbound on Highline!
A few notes about ailments. Basically, no ailments except that of the high tempo. IE, lactic acid buildup in the quads and the tibia muscles. Lower back was good today.
