Unaware that the 25th was a "thin the herd" day by the county from sunrise to sunset, we headed out to ride the Hoyles Mill Trail ... oops, it was closed. Ok, so let's go down the red trail toward the Schaeffer Farms system. Oops actual hunters there too. Ok, fine, let's go down the powerline trail -- nobody gonna be huntin deer out in the open there. Did so-called "bonus loop" between 7.9 and 9.1 (OMG so much climbing) and then meandered over to our favorite hole-in-the-fence entrance to the state park. This time, of course, it was an exit onto the paved trail along the Great Seneca Highway. Last three miles were pavement; we didn't care. Not in the woods in the dark and it was still light enough OUT of the woods to see and be seen. Not bad though not what we originally intended. Kinda struggled from mile 3 to about 4.5, then again at 6 to about 7. Eventually the legs woke up and it was fine after that, even with all the climbing. Yet another lovely fall afternoon, tho temps were a little cooler (in the 60s) than they have been.
