We've violated the Standard Way around LB before but this time we went all out. What sparked it was wanting to ride the Rock Oak Run trail, a new stretch of dirt from Clarksburg down into the park. Except we rode it out of the park, UPHILL, and then down Burnt Hill Road back to Froggy Hollow. And so from there, well, it was allll backward. Westbound on Hard Cider. UP Loggers and all the way over to Purdum. Down the upper part of Browning Run, which is correct, but then westbound on Tobacco Barn. Wrong wrong wrong .... and it was glorious. Much of the "wrong-way" stuff felt new and was quite entertaining. Minimal repeats of sections, unlike the Standard Way AND we avoided both the Pines -- Knob and Grove -- for the win. Legs were feeling yesterday's ride (Really?? It was 10 miles and not even 800 feet of climbing! So old...) and spent a lot of time hanging off the back of the peloton. Lovely fall day with temps in the upper 50s. Still incredibly dry with fast, fast trails. Great time with the OGs. w/Dan, Mark, Steve
