Sonny had just gotten back from birthday celebrations in NYC and we couldn't decide where to ride today. We both were going to suggest the Dumbarton loop but Bob had to go and do that yesterday for Black Friday.
So we went down to Morgan Hill like Bob and I did a few weeks ago but Sonny missed.
Bob took us on a new bit of pristine gravel and it took us a back way to West Valley College that was much nicer and quieter.
It was colder than last time but it was warm enough by Calero that we could take off the warmers and ride in shorts and short sleeves. It was also nice that it was much less windy.
I don't know what was going on with people but we were getting cars making dangerous turns right in front of us. They knew we were there. One guy drove in the oncoming lane Sobey Rd., which is just a two lane road, and cut across us to turn right on Quito Rd. saving themselves 5s at the most. One pickup that made a left across the road to go into a parking lot right in front of us, I delighted in calling the guy a turkey.
Mr. Pickles added a sandwich size between half and full they're calling "Sammie". They have new bread in that size that doesn't taste as good as their usual bread. They also are now charging for the Sammie what they used to charge for the full and increased the price of the full by quite a bit. Like 25-30%. I got the Sammie size because last time I wasn't hungry enough for a full even though that's what I normally get. The Sammie was unsatisfying from the size and the taste of the bread.
Heading back up Coyote Creek Trail, Sonny must've been tired because he was coasting a lot. I don't understand how he can coast and keep up. It makes no sense. His loud freehub felt like I was being chased by cicadas. Bob and I are going to have to chip in for a quieter one. I can be 20' behind him and I can't hear my own freehub 4' away from my ears over the sound of his.
