Farley 9.6. Sunny early, then cloudy towards the end of the ride, Cold - 17 at the start, warmed up to 27 or so by rides end, SW winds @ 10-12 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Cold, quiet and crunchy. I started early with an 8:20 am roll time. For the duration of the ride I only saw 2 trail runners, one hiker and at the end, 1 other cyclist, although 2 passed by me as I was loading up the bike.
I started at the Maple Lake East trailhead, warmed up on the Cemetery Loop, then took the trail down to Wolf Road Woods and then down to the Canal trail headed West. This is supposed to be a Green Beginner trail but it's so poorly maintained it might as well be classified as a Blue Intermediate one. It really is in awful shape and I can't imagine it even being rideable in warm weather as it's totally overgrown.
On the way back East, I decided to jump off to head North on the Dynamite Road, which is a Black Diamond trail and it's a well deserved designation - extremely difficult going uphill. Took this to 3 Ravines, a difficult Blue trail. I rode this last week going West but it was better going East. There's 3 really tough Ravine crossing sections but I guess I knew what was coming so I was able to complete all 3 without issue. Went on to complete the Stonehouse trail and finished up with the Resurrection Trail,
Finished the ride a few miles short but still made it before Noon. Stopped by the Geneva Ale House for lunch and a couple of pops.
