13th and final pedal of the Face Value Series. Unplanned this way when Series started, but 13th ride ON the 13th of month is some kind of omen. Also a sign that this was going to be an especially good ride was that I found parking spot right in front of Spearhead Coffee, had a delicious cup of Colombian beforehand as I was gearing up and had plenty of room on town sidewalk and a city bench to prep. Off to a bit of a late start (intended 7:30), but basking in the getting ready took up a bit more time. Have been on these roads before, but it occurs to me that Peachy Canyon, especially, is newly paved. Still the same amount of climbing involved to eventually get to that long ski run of a descent down Adelaida to Nacimiento. Stellar AND a good workout. Legs felt a little wobbly being this was the day after Baywood-SLO-Baywood loop and I hadn't done two consecutive mornings in awhile. Still in all, I would rank this as a major highlight of the 13 rides of this grouping.
