Opted to do the A-Frame Loop on such a warm May 1st. Drove to Husum and started there. The first 15 miles to Trout Lake is a continual gradual climb, 1450 ft elevation gain, but nothing overly strenuous. First rest stop is at the Trout Lake store at the Sunnyside Rd turn-off. A construction project was on-going along Sunnyside Rd. Lots of gravel strips and loose rocks. Intended to stay on Sunnyside Rd to avoid the 0.8 mile gravel section on River Rd. Garmin wouldn't alter the route on the fly, so I returned to Creamery Rd and did the gravel section. The next 12 miles is on Trout Lake Highway to Glenwood. There is a 1.8 mile climb with 650 feet elevation gain beginning at the Trout Lake Highway/Sunnyside Rd intersection. Then, it's mostly downhill into Glenwood. Rode by a prescribed burn a few miles before Glenwood. Second rest stop is the Glenwood Cafe (mile 31.2). The next 15-mile section is on Lakeside Rd then BZ-Glenwood Highway. A lot of this goes through the Conboy Wildlife Refuge. At mile 45 is the last climb, followed by nearly 6 miles of downhill to BZ Corner and Highway 143. Usually have a tailwind on the final 4.5 miles stretch on Highway 143. Today it was a crosswind (Northeast to East).
