Today's weather was much cooler than the previous ride. Somewhere in the low 70's. I decided to wear a base-layer (cotton t-shirt). I'm combating saddle soreness and am going to the Dr. to see what I can do about it. Now for the ride stuff... I felt a bit heavy in the legs for the first 5 minutes. It's always difficult to gauge how well I feel when I'm forced to ride into a head-wind for the first 10 minutes. I cruised the downhill and reached the base in about 28 minutes. The winds were especially strong today and I was getting knocked around on the descent. The ascent was what I expected. The strong wind on my back. I think I did up to 1mph faster just from the wind. I kept the tempo moderate-high for most of the ride. My HR never went much above 155, if at all. I felt no difference compared to rides where my HR was much higher. My ailments consisted of slight numbness in the right hand, a bit of soreness in the back, and soreness in the left hip, deep tissue. My concentration was probably the best attribute of today's ride. My balance was also good. Gear is working great. I received my new cassette today and to my surprise, the bit of play is also apparent. I've experienced no anomalies so far. I'm going to reduce my mileage till I can get the sores squared out. My lab work came back low, so I think I'll coordinate lesser mileage on lab week.
