Weather looked good but Mt. Rainier makes its own weather so forecast for Longmire was wrong. But Rainier was out (kinda) and again virtually no traffic in either of the rides from Longmire to Paradise. Loved it. Skip joined me on the first trip to Longmire and in that he rides with a range extender (another battery) he is faster as he is using the factory set levels of support and has unlimited battery in comparison to me. Coming down was cold particularly on the second descent even though I had added a jacket and gloves for the ride down. So before heading back up, I had a cup of hot tea at Longmire. For the relatively few people at Paradise, there were a lot of tourist and buses of school kids. Continue to meet a lot of very nice and interesting people. Part of the trip expience. Blackberry pie at Copper Creek followed by a slamon burger at Ashford. Wanted to push the battery to 0% and think I did. Finally 2 miles to Paradise, motor made some odd noises when the monitor said there was 14% battery left but if there was battery left, it was hard to tell. Some support but not much even though the monitor never went below 11%.. Hmmm
Data; Road level 1 from Longmire to Paradise and used 32% of the battery which is more than usual. Second trip used L2 and based on previous use of L2 expected to use 50% more to Paradise. But by mile 42 (6 miles from Longmire) the battery was reading 30 left ie I had used (68-30=38%) for only 6 miles a L2 and I had another 6 miles to go so I dropped to L1 to save battery. On last 2 miles reading 14% the battery seemed to drop off but seemed to provide some assistance at L1. Couldn't tell about L2 support. Out of saddle a lot and marginal use of L1 to Paradise. Battery reads 11% remaining for the rest of the trip. HMMMMM
