The weather has warmed up just a bit. I got out later than I would have liked. It was in the mid 70’s when I got out. The air was on the cool side, from the North West. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the top of OTR in good time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, otherwise went as usual I was near max going over the top while doing in and out of the saddle efforts. I felt a bit better in the morale. I recovered on the flats and made my way to the summit. There was some traffic mitigation, so I was all eyes and ears. After reaching the summit, I took a few moments to recover. I let traffic by and then headed down the mountain. I was playing it safe. There was some traffic. I was feathering the brakes most of the way down. The trek to SS went reasonably quick. There was a mild headwind at this point. After reaching the front entrance, I took a few moments to stretch on the bike. Then I made my way around the backside. I recovered a bit when I reached the back entrance. I was able to put in a good sprint on the downhill. There was some oncoming traffic, so I kept my speed in check. I stopped at the local park to take a quick bio. I made it to the tunnel in about 1:02 hours. I stopped again at the local mini-mart to quickly mix a powder drink with the extra bottle of water I had in my saddle bag. I got back on the road and made my way through the farmlands. It was mostly steady tempo. I was having to dodge the potholes and rough road on Pellisier. There was traffic on top of that, so I was look around every few moments. I don’t recall the time to Boss Hogs. I think I lost about 3 to 4 minutes on the return. Then the last climb. I was doing no less than moderate tempo and in and out of the saddle efforts, no heroics. After reaching the summit, I pulled over to feed. I fed a Clif Bar with water and sport drink. I got back on the road after feeding and made my way to Route 202. Route 202 had some traffic mitigation. I was sprinting to the turn onto OTR. Descending off OTR was fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa and put in the dig up Weston. I shut it down after reaching the top.
Concentration was good. The morale was good most of the time. I had minimal lapses and no gremlins worth mentioning. My patience was mostly in check. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Just the usual hand soreness and numbness. My arms were getting sore on the descent off Banducci, shaking them kept things in check. Nutrition was good. I fed a Clif Bar, two bottles of sport drink and some water. Gear worked flawlessly, although, mystery clicks persists. More detective work on that needed. Other notes, I saw two cyclsits today.
