I didn't want to go to Keene, so I decided to do a ride I haven't done in a while. The Walmart Bike Path. The weather is on the cool side. In the upper 60's when I got out. Winds from the North West. I wore the standard summer kit. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the top of OTR in average time. I was going into a headwind, hence the slightly slower time. I made my way to the top of Highline and then the descent over the other side. I was able to relax on the bike path. I was going into a headwind at that time, knowing that I would have a nice tailwind on the return helped the morale. After making it to the end of the bike path, I headed back. It went quick, especially with the nice tailwind. From there, I hopped back on Highline. I was using my lowest gears to get over the top. I then made my way back to OTR. The descent off OTR was fun. I pushed over Mariposa and then to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. The morale felt good. Patience was in check. I was in the zone most of the time with minimal gremlins. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Some mild hand numbness during the extended out of the saddle efforts. Nutrition was good. I fed oatmeal and half a banana before departing. I went through about 2/3rds of my sport drink. No water. Gear worked flawlessly. I have to adjust the front brake because it is still rubbing since I replaced the front and rear brake pads. Other notes, no cyclists today. There were some people on the Walmart Bike Path.
