With intentions of another tenting night, headed off to a restaurant last night where I sat adjacent to two elderly gentleman whom engaged me in conversation (pigeon English and my poor French) Long story short Bernard offered his spare room in his house which was sited within the medieval walled city and adjacent to the Royale castle that was once occupied by Charles VII and also Joan of Arc...pretty cool.!!The promise of breakfast plus more conversation lead to a rather late start with only 20km done before midday..a big afternoon but finding a velo pathway halfway through was a bonus. Orleans is another riverside city but with a modern edge.
Accommodation appears to be a spare room in a 'Senior Living' building ...hmmm
