More experiments and climbing work, this time checking out Offut and West Willard roads as well as a stretch of Hunting Quarter and River Roads. Result? Meh. River Road definitely not a pleasant ride. The last foot or two of the right edge is extremely rough and broken in places and traffic moves pretty fast. Visibility OK Hunting Quarter is dirt (good!) but at one point a huge, huge mudhole/puddle engulfed the whole road (bad). No idea how deep it is; went to the extreme edge against a bluff and inched around/through it with a foot on a pedal and a foot on the bluff. Offut was a fine road, VERY little traffic. W. Wilard, meh, it'll do in a pinch. A bit narrow with traffic so time of day matters. Climbier than preferred -- Hughes Road to the east is much better. Did the standard stuff in reverse and liked it, even the big climb up White Store from 8 to 10. Was NOT a fan of the Schaeffer Road climb at the end, cuz tired, but that's good for you too.
