Following the previous night's light snow fall the short and long ride leaders cancelled their rides. However, ride secretary supremo TC, turned up to lead the medium ride. The few of us that had turned up hoping for a quick coffee then a dash back home to bed were sadly disappointed as TC insisted the ride must take place. "But there is snow on the ground", we complained. "Exactly", he retorted, "That is when those pesky penguins will most likely make their move in their bid for world domination". So nine of us joined his snow patrol (Sally sneaked off AWOL but TC didn't notice and as no one dobbed her in I think she got away with it).
The ride was slightly modified and our first stop was Iver Golf Club where we had a chance to warm up before setting off again minus Don who had an excused boots chitty signed by his doctor. Keeping a sharp look out for the penguin army we headed to the Prince Albert at Clewer via Old Windsor. Following a splendid lunch we set off again heading for our last stop the Black Horse at Iver via the Thames, Slough and Stoke Poges. As we reached the Stoke Poges area, TC realised that we were missing five Loiterers. Fearing that they had been ambushed by penguins he frantically phoned the missing group to discover that they had taken the wrong turn behind us. We all met up again at the Black Horse where following a few more drinks the group dispersed.

A great ride on a chilly day.
