Col de la Colombiere

Starting and finishing in the town of Bonneville this short trip into the alps climbs the wonderful Col de la Colombiere. From Bonneville the route gently climbs for 10 Km to the village of Marnaz. The main climb itself starts with a real 12% legburner before settling down into a nice rhythm up to the village of Le Reposoir, where the climb steepens firstly as switchbacks before straightening out for the final haul to the summit. That's nearly all of the climbing done for the day. What follows is a fantastic descent down to village of Le Grand Bornand, where shortly after the road turns and descends through the beautiful Gorge des Eveaux back to Bonneville.
