I don't know whether I've ridden Granite Creek since late 2019, when I moved to Los Angeles. But I'm back for Santa Cruz Shakespeare, and I wanted to do a solid climb, but something familiar. I may have pressed a bit more than I usually do, especially on the way back to Capitola, because I needed to get back in time to shower and vacate the campsite by noon. Them's the rules! I did get up early and wanted to start earlier, but I didn't get started until almost 9 am. (I admit I did a little urgent work before I started.) And since I missed the July 30 Bike Santa Cruz County event for the opening of the Chanticleer Avenue bike/pedestrian overcrossing over Highway 1, I rode over it today and took a few pictures.
