Weedsport, NY to Canastota, NY Another dusty day on the Ernie Canal Trail (because it is more fun to think of it as named after a Sesame Street character and ens are cheap). I think both of us were feeling pretty low energy today, taking more frequent and longer breaks than usual. For lunch we saw a bunch of restaurants on Google Maps at the southeast end of Onondaga Lake. When we got there it turned out to be an enormous (enclosed) shopping mall. We gave it a try but ended up burning a lot of time trying to find the food court. We ultimately ended up with some noodle soup that was pretty good. After that we slogged our way through Syracuse until we got back onto canal trails again. The scenery doesn't change much on them, but they are peaceful and it is fun seeing other touring cyclists, and to look at the fish and turtles in the canal.
