The ferry ride was really calm like a lake. I asked the worker there if it was normal and she said no that it was usually much rougher. I had big plans to stop by Subway and get my meal of the day and the meal for the evening. It was right off the ferry dock unfortunately for some reason it was closed. So without really eating a meal, I headed to Fort Warden, which I knew would involve some climbing. I downed a couple of snack bars on my ride there. Fort Warden is pretty neat. It has a lot older military buildings as well as old concrete batteries and a lighthouse. There’s a lot of trails, enough to get lost which I kind of did. While heading back to town a local directed me around a big hill I was about to take and he was right. It was much better. Going a couple blocks over. I decided to check out the same subway again to see if it opened and there was somebody there this time but it still didn’t open till two and it was 1:45 and I didn’t want to wait. So I found a café that was open near the waterfront and ordered me a hamburger and fries. I had the idea to change my schedule and instead of stopping at Fort Townsend Park. I wanted to travel clear to Seqium state park. This was the first part of the Olympic discovery Trail. You still have to ride on the highway a lot but the parts that were separate were really nice so I made it about 66 miles total to the new stopping point. Now I just have to figure out what I’m going to do For the next days. I still have one extra day to use up and I think I’ll need it in the coming days but as of now I’m ahead of schedule.
