After a decidedly gloomy start to the day, with low clouds and showers threatening, late morning and early afternoon saw a dramatic turnaround. Skies cleared, the humidity dropped, and the temps warmed into the low seventies. A stiff northwesterly wind of 10-15 provided a nice push southward on the outbound, uphill segment. Words cannot express the joy of riding with Gina and Joey through some of the most beautiful terrain that NY has to offer. The high speed, powered descent back to the car was the added icing on the cake! Joey was feeling fit, and we all returned to the car beaming with satisfaction! As in past autumn seasons, the foliage colors remain mysteriously muted. Joey reports that drought conditions have once again prevailed for the past few months. Don’t be fooled by the considerably color-enhanced leaves in the accompanying photos!
