My second ride after returning from WI and I got an even later start today! Oh and the temps were hotter! So guess what happened? Yep, it was a challenge to finish in the heat. I did ok with hydration, yet my electrolyte balance was poor. Upon completing the ride, I was getting leg cramps and had to down some tablets. Once home, and showered, the cramps kept coming. So Sonja arrived and gave me a container full water mixed with the powder Eletroclyte IV. I drank all of that. Still the cramps. So one more set of tablets. Finally the cramps stopped. I am guessing, I consumed 5 tablets out on the ride. Then 4 more at the house, along with the Powder IV. Yikes. Oh, the ride was good, yet had headwind from the Shell Station on SVP all the way home. That really hurt.
