After having a terrible day yesterday with the heat and eletrolytes, I got out 2 hours earlier at 7:24am ( yes RWGPS is wrong). Much better results today. I rode at a recovery pace all day, so it was a slower ride. Today, the gate at the the first climb in Verrado was shut and it was secured shut with padlocks. The gate opening mechanism was disconnected as well, so this looks like a long term closer. It was easy enough to walk around it on the uphill side. I considered detouring to Basha's for a donut but didn't. I considered stopping at the golf course shack for a breakfast burrito, but didn't. It did get hot once I got up into White Tank Mtn Regional Park. Yet it was nice to finally ride in the desert flora. So different from the midwest rides. I stopped to get water at Waterfall Trail and made sure I was wetted down on arms, legs, and cap. Oh and Sarival is still closed at the Zoo! So just detour over to the Zoo entrance to get around it! So long to get a road fixed.
