Been awhile since the WTF has been ridden, and it was a nice day (hovering around 70) so off to the country it went... Drove all the way to Whites Ferry and rode back toward Poolesville simply because it was so nice and the drive in the middle of the day is quite lovely.
And so was the bike riding ... Had been planning all along to checkout the new park (driveway at Mile 13.3) and stumbled on trails at 10.5 ... look close, you can see where the trails were seen and then it took a few yards to stop and turn around ("Hey! Wait a minute! Haven't seen those before!"). Turns out they are connected to the new park and so since the WTF had the fat wheels on it. onto the trails we went.
All machine made, no water crossings (!!) or rock gardens, so perfectly fine on a gravel bike. Didn't ride all of them as I was fighting a front tire not holding air. Pumped it up a coupla times before surrendering in mid-gravel at about 28 and put in the damn tube. Oh look! No sealant in the tire! No wonder it would not stay inflated ... baaaad maintenance. (Regular readers will recall a ride with the EXACT SAME problem back in July ... but for the rear of this wheelset.)
Longest ride on a non-MTB in awhile (since Oct 14 it's been all dirt, all the time) and it was really great to be out on pavement (and gravel) zipping along. Pedaling at 18 or 20 mph after the first climb felt REALLY fast, and it was glorious.
Body held up to both the distance and the various efforts; getting off to keep adding air to a tire probably helped ;-) .

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
