Rode up to the meet point for the Sat AM club ride. Had a decent turn out. A few of the guys decided to ride to the ocean and up to Boynton Beach Inlet and back. It would be a 62 mi ride plus the 12 mi to my place. I let them twist my arm into joining them. I was about 10 mi into the ride when I realized that I really was not prepared. I didn't eat much yesterday, just a burger at 11 am and a bag of edamame at 9:30 pm. 4 beers didn't help much either. And I only had a granola bar with me.
Going east and north was fairly easy as we had a breeze out of the west. After we turned back we started to fight the wind. After we went about 10 mi I started to cramp up. They guys waited for me, but my rear shifter was not working and I was stuck in high gear, which didn't help. After about 7 mi I started to cramp again. I made it to the next rest stop at 7-11 and got 2 qts of Gatorade and a banana. I drank one, but within about 2 mi I was still cramping. I told the guys to continue on and I called my wife to come get me.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
