As though my body new it was time for another big day, I woke up naturally at 5am and was out of the campsite by 6:15am. The first roads to Kure were mostly very busy single lane highways, so I stayed on the footpath where I could, but sometimes I would have to cross over without warning because the path to would end and I'd wait ages for the tiniest break in traffic. At one point I stopped at a home center to get some things to clean my brakes, but every bicycle shop I went into after didnt have brake cleaner (one did but it was too big of a can for me to bring along). At lunchtime I stopped at Joyfull for 2h just because the heat was so bad and I was super hungry. I used that time to also dry out my tent and washed clothes. From there it wasn't too long before I made it to the islands. The bridges were actually massive and very cool. The roads were super quiet and peaceful, at one point I stopped and the only noises were the small waves crashing against the shore and the nearby birds. My campsite is a small patch of grass next to the road, yet I havent seen a single car go by. The sunset here was stunning.
