Started out as a check ride for the front tire of the NIner -- it had gone flat and would not hold air even though no leaks were obvious when dunked in a pool -- as well as whether the body had recovered from the Baileys adventure. And then THAT turned into, well, some exploration. (And yes, new Stans in the tire after sucking out the brown old stuff solved the problem.)
First exploration was checking the condition of the trail from .5 to 1.0 (needs trimmed/clipped but it's not horrible ... yet). Then the bit from 1.3 to 1.5 (more clipping/trimming, plus pick-up-stix.)
And I've always been curious about the spur off the Percheron Trail in the ag history farm, so came at that from the Cypress Hill Drive side. It's well-marked and clearly official.
By then the legs were feeling pretty good, so a jaunt down the Upper Rock Creek Trail seemed like a good idea. Then, yeah, let's do that funny little "Parilla Path" loop in Needwood. And then THAT led to maybe a poor choice -- the unnamed "connector" between Needwood Road and Redland Road. Was absolutely bloody by the end. SOOOOOO overgrown.
The smart thing would have been to turn around after first blood, but no, that would then mean repeating oneself and we cannot do that. So onward we pushed and now have the scars to prove it. Somebody (most likely from the neighborhood above the stream valley) has mowed/trimmed the last quarter mile of it, so that was great, but there was plenty of blood by then.
WIth the bridge on Redland Road being replaced, had to ride through Briardale to get home.
In the end, legs felt good, body was mostly good (though it sure didn't start that way) and recovery from 40 miles of trails in two days seems to be complete.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
