Got an early afternoon start after driving down from Best Western Tumwater. The day started by me taking 2 busses north from my Tumwater hotel to get to SeaTac car rental and picking up a 2025 Rav4. Drove back south ~1hr, to Best Western Tumwater and loaded all my stuff into car and left for Portland.
It was another breezy and warm day. The triangle route used 2 main, long bike paths, one on south side ( heading west, Springwater Corridor) and one on north ( heading east, Marine Drive Trail) at end of my ride. In downtown Portland the trail used the Vera Katz Eastbank Esplanade which had great views, a floating bridge, and wide path.
I opted to start on east end out in Troutdale, along the Sandy River. Then rode the Springdale Corridor over to the Willamette River. Then finally the 3rd river, the Columbia River was alongside The Marine Trail.
The out-back on south side to Milwaukie was interesting. Nice homes and nice view of Willamette River.
On the north side, in addition to riding in Univ Portland campus, which is on a hill overlooking downtown, the route took me out to the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers at Kelly Point Park.
The return along The Marine Trail was awesome since had a tailwind, views of the airport in front of the looming Mt. Hood, the tallest peak in OR,.
