Hiding outside Gig Harbor

Nice areas to glide through. Lush homes built in lush forests. Lots of rolling, steep hills with tight curves to dive into. 36 mph into a 10 mph corner. Charge! There were a couple of hills where I pushed hard while thinking they were steeper than 11% grade. Because a good portion of the road has zero shoulder, I recommend not riding on heavy traffic days. Drivers were very generous, gave me space and never honked no matter how many cars piled up. Nice areas to glide through. Once off the main arterials the area shows how quiet and pretty it is. There are few services so bring water and food on long rides. These backroads outside of Gig Harbor's are worth fully exploring.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
