Ok, I went farther north today and it got nasty real fast! First, the only way to get to 108 Mile Ranch from 100 Mile House was a 2-lane busy highway. but that was only 8 miles. Following this was 10 miles of severe back roads, unmaintained and ungraded. I started getting water anxiety since my pace was so slow. Then there was the logging trucks and active mining. Deep into this, there started to be detours due to private land and mining. Luckily, a Canadian guy loading a tractor stopped and told me how to escape. This also bypassed 9 miles and I'm so glad. So everything worked out in the end. Me and my bike got moderately muddy. This is the payback of a virtual green region: It rains a lot. No rain on me, but the recent rains were apparent. Oh, my water stop still was Forest Grove General Store, which is in the tiny town on the edge of all the paved roads! What an adventure! The tractor guy was the only person I interacted with today. before that, only bugs, bees & horseflies who continuously circled me, dragonflies and lots of deer. I still tried to record the lakes I saw too.
