Sisters to Bend SMOKE, ugh. Last night we met up with Ryan, Steph, and their friends in Sisters for dinner, which was unexpected and super fun! Ryan and Brad were competing in the High Cascades 100 bike race (single speed category). We could see the smoke plume as we descended from McKenzie pass yesterday evening and by the time we headed out to dinner the smoke had been blown back to Sisters. It was very smokey this morning when we left our hotel, ash visible on the ground and in the air. Throughout today's ride there was increasing rain which kept us cool and seemed to knock down the smoke (or the wind blew it away some). We are considering pulling the plug on the tour here, if it looks like we'll be riding in a lot of smoke between here and Klamath Falls and if we can get a bus ride to the train station. We'll see what happens.
