Early morning ride due to impending heat and humidity. Started from Lewis and Clark State Park around 715 am. Temps in the mid 60s, no wind, but hazy due to elevated wildfire smoke. First climb was from Dabney Rec Area to Springdale. Second, longer, climb was from Springdale to Corbett. Third, shorter, climb was just past Corbett Fire Station to Women's Forum. Close to 800 feet gain in 8.5 miles. Another 50 feet gain to the Larch Mtn. Rd turn-off then lengthy downhill past Vista House to Bridal Veil. Picked up a northeast to east wind just before Corbett. Short rest stop at Multnomah Falls (mile 18.2). Continued on past Oneonta Tunnel, Ainsworth Park and to the I-84 on-ramp. Turned onto Frontage Rd and rode that for about 1/2 mile (mile 22.5). The northeast to east wind came in handy on the return trip to Multnomah Falls. Lots of climbing from there back to the Larch Mtn. turn-off. Long downhill to the Stark St. bridge and finally the 2.5 mile sprint back to Lewis and Clark. I was the first one to the park. Multnomah Falls wasn't too busy when I went by there. Came across a few other cyclists. Great time to ride the waterfall corridor due to a lot less traffic.
