İstanbul-İzmit

The week-long stay in Istanbul with Dan and Lothar was really enjoyable. We worked on our bikes, sent extra stuff home, and drank lots of coffee/çai/beer. I even got some yerba mate from the Egyptian Bazaar. Lothar arrived two days late and immediately got a stomach bug, which was unfortunate. Dan and I went to see a concert with the Irish group Kneecap. The Rummikub game is a Turkish variant called Okey.

Today Lothar and I biked for 100 km and never left the urban area. He was tempted to jump on the metro, but I was against it. We made two stops for food on the way, the weather was great, the Marmara coast had many parks and beaches, and we were refreshed; so, it was so much more pleasant than the difficult ride into Istanbul a week ago.

Lothar will decide tomorrow which direction he will go to cross Türkiye.

    Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices

  • TCX Course

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
