Rode with TJ from Wrightwood up to Dawson Saddle, where TJ showed some wisdom and turned back. I was weak today and was having trouble keeping up with TJ; I think my glycogen stores were depleted from the 70 mile beach ride yesterday, even though I did not go hard. Regardless, I pressed on and ate a very slow, high calorie lunch in Wrightwood, a very good Monte Cristo sandwich with Sweet Potato fries and lots of Classic Coke at the Grizzly Cafe. I bought some M&M peanuts in Wrightwood, and filled a water bottle with Coke. By the time I was in the middle of the climb up to Dawson Saddle I was feeling a little better, and was having fun on the descent, so I made the detour up past Crystal Lake and through the campgrounds. The rest of the descent was great; I passed two cars on the upper part, and no one caught me until after the West Fork.
