The weather remains warm, in the 80s, winds from the North West. I tried to get out early since I have an appointment at 2PM. It was a good day to go to Keene. The legs were ok to start, but needed warming up. I was sufficiently warmed up by the time I reached the top of OTR. I made it there in good average time. I cruised the downhill and put in two digs on the risers. After reaching the base, I headed back without hesitation. It took about 10 minutes for the legs to settle in. After that, it was in and out of the saddle efforts to the summit while keeping the tempo no less than moderate. The morale felt better as I passed the landmarks. As I was in the final minutes to the summit, I was guessing if I could make it there before the next song. I put in a good dig for 2 to 3 minutes. I was doing 200+ watts. I made it to the summit before the song ended, so that felt good. After cresting the summit, I took a few moments to recover. Then I headed back home. I put in a modest dig to the summit of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. The morale felt good. I had stuff to think about. I experienced a hint of impatience as I was descending to Keene. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, half a banana and some grapes for breakfast before departing. Ailments were minimal. The usual hand soreness and sensation of fatigue. The muscles and joints felt good. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, there was one familiar cyclist today as I was descending to Keene.
