The weather has cooled off. It was in the mid / upper 70's when I got out. Winds from the North West. A good day to go to the Alpine Forest. I wore the standard summer kit. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, I was watching my 6 more than anything. I had matches to burn going over the top, but was near max. The Alpine Forest climb went quick. Before I knew it, I was at the speed bumps. I made my way around the backside and had fun on the descents. From there, I headed to the top of Banducci. I took a few moments to recover, let traffic by and then headed back down the mountain. There was some traffic mitigation, so I let them pass the best I could. Descending off the Banducci Wall was safe. I feathered my brakes to the bottom. The OTR descent was relaxing. I pushed over Mariposa and then the grind to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about and the morale was good going into the ride. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, half a banana, and some grapes for breakfast. Ailments were minimal. The usual hand soreness and sensation of fatigue. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, I saw a familiar recumbent cyclist today.
