The day started in Star Valley about 14 mile from Alpine. It was raining pretty good and the shoulder was littered with all sorts of junk. The shaft of a fork found it’s way into Jupiter’s tire and it immediatey exploded! I was able to repair it good enough to get about 30min of riding before re-pumping it up. That went on for about 50 miles until we got to the bike shop to purchase a new tire (that’s when they discovered the spoon INSIDE the tire). An amazing stop at our favorite bakery in Jackson (Persephone), some video chats and then off to climb over the Tetons. That was hard. The descent into Idaho was dark and wet but we made it in one piece despite the incredible numbers of commuters who drive to Jackson every day from the west side of the Tetons. The road we went up was closed to vehicles and it was amazing but never less than 10% grade (usually 12%)! It was extra cold and late so we found a glamping tent at this amazing ranch/resort it was quite the experience.
