Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

My first day riding in the USA. Spent yesterday evening putting the bike back together, adjusting bits and pieces, repacking my panniers.
Relaxed start as I’m nervous about riding in the US. Not sure why, maybe the drivers are poor and the roads I’m likely to ride on not so good. Also I read up on highway codes in the US and every state is different. Not helpful at all.
Get out on the road around 10:00, my plan is to head for Santa Monica and muscle beach. Should be pretty simple, just follow the 3rd avenue west. Roads are not great and there are numerous stop signs and traffic lights. I’m doing my best to be patent will them but I have an urge to jump them when all is clear.
An hour later I’m on the beach, not enjoyed me journey here, things will get better. The cycle path along the coast is very good. Not to many skaters or dog walkers. It’s overcast today so that may be the reason not so many on muscle beach and the volleyball courts. Enjoying the ride now, relaxing and taking in the scenery. Seals of Manhatton beach the sun shinning and a quite path down as far as torrence beach. Cut inland at this point, 40 miles into my ride. That was all I set out to do.
Roads are busy now full of trucks, busy coming and going from the port.
Long beach is my destination but I’m not liking the traffic, far to heavy. Start heading back to downtown LA. Not long before the traffic improves and I’m cruising the downtown streets.
Locate a local bike shop and purchase a innertube, the guy has no WD40 or grease. But he sells me where to purchase the WD and gives me a knob of grease in tin foil. Nice man. Pop into the local supermarket to pick up tomorrows lunch and WD40. Place is full of Mexicans, should have done Spanish at school.
Back to the digs bit to eat then sort the pedals out on the bike. Disassemble the cranks clean, grease and reassemble. Didn't take long, all seems fine now.
Dinner at Gut’s, burger salad and chips. Back to Holiday lodge motel, not the classiest of joints.
